Rules
Disqualification or time penalties will be applied at the race organisers discretion in the event of:
- Use of unauthorised equipment, e.g. GPS
- Abandonment of a team member during the race
Entering out of bound areas
- Being assisted by a support crew outside TP areas
- Not returning race bibs at the completion of the event
Missing a checkpoint or transition area
- Use of performance enhancing drugs
- Unsportsmanlike behaviour
- Any team member found on the race course without their bib on will result in a 20 minute time penalty.
- The organisation has the right to impose penalties or add bonuses to a teams times.
Protests
If the team captain wishes to place a protest they need to do so at the end of the race.
The organisation:
Is not responsible for the behaviour of competitors or assistants infringing the laws of New Zealand
Competitors must be fully aware of the risk they run in entering the 6 hour race
Holds no responsibility for any civil, criminal case, personal accidents or damage to property during the race
All competitors enter this race at their own risk
All teams can have their own sponsors. All bibs provided by the organisation must be worn at all times during the race. Any bibs lost during the race will be paid for by the team who loses the bib. Bibs cannot be modified, marked or glued in anyway. All bibs must be returned at the finish of the race.
The race organisation will provide the following:
- All kayaks, lifejackets and paddles. It is suggested that on a cold day team members wear a wetsuit during the paddle section.
- Ropes, harnesses and abseil gear
- Safety officials at the abseil site
- Safety kayakers in the water sections
- Each competitor of each team will be provided with a bib
- Each team member will be provided with a t-shirt which must be worn at the prize giving. No t-shirt means no spot prize or prizes.
There will be category prize cups and thousands of dollars worth of spot prizes at the prize giving.
