The major race category, the mixed fours was won for the fourth time by the team A Fish out of Water comprising of Glen Yule, Tony Harris, Hayley Davis and Keith Burden. They won their category in a time of 2 hours fifty minutes. They beat Get it Done (Francene Anderson, Brendon Brier, Luke Osborne and Bridget Teagan but just 19 seconds.

Race Director Tim Wilkins said the conditions were perfect, although some teams did struggle with the heat later in the day.
“The sea conditions off Waipatiki were absolutely perfect, with no swell and very little wind.
“One of the mountain bike rides included a hair raising downhill which was both a challenge but also incredibly exciting for the competitors.
“We know by the smiles on everyone’s faces when they crossed the finish line that they had a great day out trying activities they normally don’t do,” Wilkins said.
