Equipment
Please note that we advise that a four wheel drive is preferred.
This race is held over a secret course. All team members must race together at all times. Support crews will be responsible for feeding and transporting team’s equipment between transitions - excluding kayaks for the event.
Compulsory Equipment
Must be shown at race registration on Friday March 30, 2012. We will update you up until race debrief if further equipment is required.
Per competitor:
General: Food, drinking system, backpack and safety blanket.
Mountain bike: NZ Certified cycle helmet.
Tramping gear: Backpack, poly-props (top and leggings), hat, whistle, and waterproof jacket. long sleeve clothing is a good option as there is gorse etc
Wetsuit, lifejacket, snap lock bags for dry clothing.
Per team:
- Tyre tube (per person or one large for team
- Large gear bag
- Compass and torch
- Flare (optional)
- First aid - 2 X for four person teams or 1 X for two person teams
- Painkillers eg Nurofen, panadol or aspirin
- 1x Crepe bandage 8cm and 6cm roll
- 3" x 4" Gauze pads (Qty=5)
- 1" adhesive elastic tape (Qty=1)
- Sunscreen
- 1 x blister block/second skin or similar
